Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 2021

When:

The Borough of Garwood is excited to announce the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service activities, which will be held virtually on January 18, 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The activities will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and focus on his community-building efforts and service to others. The Borough seeks community volunteers to participate in these at-home service activities.

It’s been a challenging year for everyone, but there’s so much we can still give. While we can’t be together, we can still show Garwood’s community spirit!

Please wrap each sandwich individually in plastic sandwich baggie and use a loaf bag for storage. Please mark if using pork product.
  • Cards for Active Military and Veterans at Operation Gratitude: Give thanks to our soldiers and veterans with construction paper or cardboard cards or notes decorated with your personal touch.
  • Hygiene Kits for homeless teens at Visions and Pathways: Put together your kits at home using a plastic baggie and the following items: Travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Do one activity or do them all from the safety of your home!
